Position Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to take ownership of key functions while helping build and improve accounting operations in a growing organization. You’ll play a hands-on role in accounts payable, month-end close, and financial reporting, with exposure to leadership and cross-functional projects. Your contributions will have immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

Support full-cycle AP, including invoice processing, GL coding, and 3-way matching
Manage vendor onboarding (W-9s, documentation) and maintain vendor records
Process weekly payments (ACH, wire, checks)
Reconcile vendor statements, credit cards, and employee expenses
Assist with 1099 preparation and month-end AP close (accruals, reporting)

Month-End Close & Reporting

Support month-end close, including accruals and account reconciliations
Maintain schedules and supporting documentation
Assist with financial reports, budget vs. actual analysis, and KPI reporting
Support audits, tax filings, and year-end reporting

Controls & Process Improvement

Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
Maintain process and control documentation
Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements

Technical & Analytical

Use advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, data cleaning)
Leverage accounting systems and reporting tools to improve accuracy and efficiency

Cross-Functional Support

Partner with leadership on projects and ad hoc requests
Track deliverables and coordinate cross-functional communication
Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

Required:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of accounting or relevant experience
Strong Excel skills required (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, Conditional Formatting with Formulas and data cleaning techniques including Remove Duplicates and Text-to-Columns)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Preferred (not required):

Experience with accounting systems
Experience in benefits, insurance, or financial services
