Position Summary:
Flexfab is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our accounting team in Hastings, Michigan. The accounting specialist is responsible for working on-site supporting the accounts payable and fixed asset accounting activities. This role requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performing three-way match of vendor invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents within the ERP/accounting system
- Ensuring purchase requisitions and invoices are properly coded
- Coordinating and validating appropriate approval for invoice payments
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
- Provide backup support to Accounts Payable coordinator for preparation and processing of weekly ACH, wire, credit card and check payments
- Monitoring the shared AP mailbox and saving/indexing AP documents into electronic repository
- Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers and retirements
- Tracking of capital project spend and completion status
- Support period-end fixed asset close activities including calculating and creating journal entries for depreciation and capitalization and reconciliation of subledger to general ledger
- Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries
- Support property tax filings and asset reporting as required
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Support with year-end physical inventory
- Act as backup for hourly payroll processing, including timecard review, exception resolution, and timely payroll completion
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 1-2 years of working experience with accounting software is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
