Are you the kind of person who loves clean numbers, but also wants to understand the story behind them? ProGrin Dental is seeking an Accounting Specialist I to join our growing accounting team. This role combines payroll ownership with core accounting responsibilities, making it ideal for someone early in their accounting career who wants to build a strong foundation and grow over time. This position is designed to provide strong work-life balance while maintaining meaningful ownership of payroll and growing accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll across multiple locations using iSolved
• Manage employee deductions, benefits, reimbursements, and PTO tracking
• Communicate with employees regarding payroll, benefit and PTO inquiries
• Prepare payroll and general ledger journal entries
• Support month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online
• Partner with HR and accounting to ensure data consistency across systems
• Assist with accounting tasks, reporting, and process improvements

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll experience or equivalent education
• Basic understanding of accounting principles including GAP and accrual
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or payroll systems
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Great sense of humor
