Soar is looking to hire an Accounting Lead to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee all aspects of daily accounting operations across EMMA and APAC regions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions—including general ledger entries, vendor invoices, and employee reimbursements
  • Assist the Accounting and FP&A Director in executing annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, including vertical analysis and horizontal trend evaluation.
  • Manage accounts payable and fixed asset accounting, maintaining compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Reconcile bank statements with internal records, investigate discrepancies, and uphold financial data integrity
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all financial postings
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including accrual preparation and payable validation
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements in accordance with IFRS/EAS standards, including SFRS(I) for Singapore operations
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with IFRS/EAS/SFRS(I) and internal control policies across EMMA and APAC regions
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings, including WHT, VAT, and CIT, across multiple jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ERP system implementation and data migration initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to streamline accounting workflows and reporting
  • Independently manage accounting tasks during the initial phase, with the expectation to supervise junior team members once the team is established.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Professional Certification: CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent recognized credential (mandatory)
  • Experience: 4.5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, preferably within the fintech sector; prior experience at a Big Four accounting firm is highly valued
  • ERP Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Oracle, or SAP, including system configuration and data migration
  • Analytical Tools: Strong command of Power BI, Alteryx, and advanced Excel for financial automation and reporting
  • Language Skills: Native Arabic speaker with full professional proficiency in English
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor junior team members, with a focus on quality control and professional development
  • Compliance & Accuracy: Deep understanding of IFRS, EAS, and SFRS(I) standards and regional tax regulations, with a commitment to precision and integrity in financial reporting
