To oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, compliance with regulations, and strong internal controls. The role involves strategic planning, financial analysis, and providing management with insights to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting
- Supervise daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, and Banking.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Monitor cash flows and working capital to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Manage reconciliation of bank statements and financial records.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
- Track budget variances, analyze financial performance, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide management with detailed financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns (income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, etc.).
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards.
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Review and improve financial policies, procedures, and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and train the accounts and finance team to enhance performance.
- Allocate tasks, monitor KPIs, and ensure professional growth of team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Planning
- Provide financial insights for business expansion, cost control, and investment opportunities.
- Support management in fundraising, bank negotiations, and capital expenditure planning.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA, ACCA, CA, CMA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, taxation laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
