Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of accounting principles, experience with financial reporting, and the ability to handle accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and supporting the company’s financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain and update accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide variance analysis to help management understand financial trends.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and audits.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support the preparation and review of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Compliance & Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., tax laws, GAAP standards, and industry-specific guidelines).
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits, ensuring that documentation is accurate and readily available.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Manage and track incoming and outgoing payments.
- Ensure proper classification and coding of expenses.
- Follow up with customers and vendors to resolve discrepancies and outstanding payments.
- Payroll Support:
- Assist in processing payroll and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Maintain records of employee deductions and benefit contributions.
- Financial Analysis:
- Provide financial insights and support to department heads and management.
- Assist in identifying financial risks and opportunities for growth or cost control.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or other professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CFA) are a plus but not required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas).
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate accounting or within a Advertising industry.
- Familiarity with tax regulations, payroll systems, and auditing processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
