Key responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable: Process invoices, payments, and collections, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Maintain financial records: Keep financial records accurate and complete, including the general ledger, and prepare monthly journal entries.
- Perform reconciliations and prepare reports: Reconcile accounts, prepare financial statements and reports, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance: Adhere to financial regulations and company policies, and support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Analyze financial data: Examine financial data to identify discrepancies or potential improvements and communicate findings to management.
- Handle inquiries: Respond to account-related inquiries from both internal departments and external clients.
Qualifications and skills
- Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is often preferred.
- Experience: Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and using accounting software is important.
- Technical skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, SunSystems) and productivity tools like Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is crucial.
- Soft skills: Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication are essential for the role.
- Other requirements: The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is often required
