Title – Accounts Payable & Benefits Clerk

Status – Full Time (35-hour work week)

Hours – 8:30-4:30 (one-hour lunch)

Salary – Class 3 – $46.00-$47.00 (experienced)

Position Available – Immediately

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete and accurate full-charge accounts payable records including input and processing of invoices and expense reports for payment, obtaining necessary approvals and preparing check/ACH/wire payment records.
  • Process, reconcile, and document daily deposit activity in accordance with established accounting procedures.
  • Record and import financial transactions from the Benefits ERP into the Accounting ERP (Sage Intacct) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and process Federal and State tax payments for benefits, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate accounting errors timely.
  • Collect and verify member forms and supporting records to facilitate the accurate processing of benefit requests in alignment with established qualification criteria.
  • Support with ad-hoc projects.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, highly organized, flexible & dependable.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence, and good judgment.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors, and others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; experience in similar roles is sufficient.
  • Minimum 3 years accounting experience in the field or a related area
  • Skilled with PCs, accounting software (Sage Intacct), Adobe and MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, organizational skills and able to work in a “team” environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46.00 - $47.00 per hour
