Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. Duties
- Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders using various accounting software such as SAP, Workday, or QuickBooks
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts payable records
- Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable transactions and maintain the general ledger
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies promptly
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX controls, and company policies during all financial transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and financial reporting
- Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Paychex, or Kronos when necessary
- Conduct data entry with high accuracy (including 10 key typing) for all payable transactions
- Maintain documentation for audit purposes and assist with internal/external audits related to accounts payable
- Collaborate with HRIS systems such as UltiPro or Ceridian for benefits administration and employee data management when applicable
- Stay updated on relevant tax regulations and governmental accounting standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts payable, general ledger accounting, or related financial roles; experience in public accounting is a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; familiarity with systems like Workday or QuickBooks is preferred
- Knowledge of payroll management systems including ADP or Paychex is advantageous
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for account reconciliation and journal entries
- Ability to perform data entry efficiently (including 10 key typing) with high accuracy
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is desirable
- Strong organizational skills combined with effective communication abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus

Pay: $24.77 - $29.83 per hour
