Position Summary Jennings Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Orangeburg, SC. This full-time, on-site position will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and supporting the accounting team.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and values accuracy, organization, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices in a timely manner
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Issue purchase orders upon request from field personnel
- Support project managers and operations team with invoice tracking and job cost allocations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience (construction industry experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of invoice processing and general accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, or similar systems preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
- High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred
