We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Contract Accounts Payable Specialist to join our vibrant team. This is a unique opportunity to work in the fast-paced Engineering industry, where you will play a crucial role in the financial health of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in invoice creation and entry, and performing monthly reconciliations. This position requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration with various departments.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the entire accounts payable process, from receipt of invoices to payment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
3. Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
4. Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
5. Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare analysis of accounts.
6. Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
7. Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
8. Maintain vendor files and correspond with vendors to respond to inquiries.
9. Produce monthly reports and assist with month-end closing.
10. Maintain accurate historical records by filing documents.
11. Provide supporting documentation for audits.
12. Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable role.
2. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
4. Strong understanding of the accounts payable process, including experience with GL, AP, Invoicing, and Reconciliation.
5. Excellent data entry skills, with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
9. Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
10. Experience with accounting software, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
