Walnut Capital Management – Pittsburgh, PA

is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team in Pittsburgh, PA.

This position is ideal for an organized accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience handling high-volume accounts payable functions. Candidates with commercial real estate, property management, or multi-entity accounting experience are strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will also have an interest in process improvement and accounting technology, as this role will support ongoing automation initiatives and workflow enhancements within the Accounts Payable department.

Responsibilities

  • Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely
  • Work with digital platforms to process A/P invoices
  • Support implementation and optimization of these AP automation systems and workflows
  • Reconcile, pay, and maintain credit accounts across multiple vendors
  • Assist with invoice management and payment for utilities across multiple platforms
  • Route invoices electronically and manually for approvals
  • Enter invoices and payment information into the accounting system
  • Process vendor payments and check runs
  • Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
  • Maintain organized A/P records and supporting documentation
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, property managers, and internal departments
  • Assist with month-end accounting tasks and reporting
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable or accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with A/P automation systems or invoice workflow software preferred
  • Experience in project management/intercompany transactions preferred
  • Ability to learn multiple platforms including Yardi real estate software
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Gmail, Outlook, and general accounting software
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn commercial real estate or property management accounting
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred but not required

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
