Accounts Payable Specialist

LHH has partnered with a growing organization in Carlsbad seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their collaborative accounting team. This is a hybrid opportunity offering a mix of in-office and remote work once fully ramped. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small, tight-knit team environment and enjoys owning the full AP cycle while working closely with leadership.



Key responsibilities of this AP Specialist include:

  • Process and code vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Manage invoice workflow through Bill.com
  • Perform 2-way or 3-way matching and ensure proper approvals
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain organized AP records and support audit documentation
  • Assist with month-end close activities related to AP
  • Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding invoice and payment inquiries
  • Monitor AP aging and ensure timely payments
  • Support process improvements to streamline AP workflows



Minimum qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience
  • Hands-on experience with Bill.com required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a small team environment with shared responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Excel and general accounting systems
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload
