Accounts Payable Technician

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for reviewing invoices, 3-way matching to purchase orders (where applicable), entering data into payables system so that company can process timely payment of all expenses and merchandise purchased by Company (material, freight charges, commissions, broker fees etc.).

POSITION OUTCOMES/DELIVERABLES:

· Process invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner.

· Process expense reports in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Verify, Balance, and Process Invoices for Non-Merchandise Expenses

· Review and pay monthly store utility bills for all retail stores

· Review and pay general invoices, purchases, rents, shipping, taxes, alterations etc. for retail stores and corporate office

· Research and resolve issues associated with invoice payment or outstanding balances

Verify, Balance, and Process Invoices for Merchandise Expenses

· Match Invoices to purchase orders

· Make payment on merchandise received from domestic vendors.

· Match payment for international shipments to wire transfers.

· Work with vendors and internal associates to ensure accurate reconciliation of expenses.

Data Entry

· Data entry (manual or electronic upload) of all invoices

Enter and Process Associate Expense Reports

· Upload expense reports from software

· Audit reports and post into the financial system

· Research and resolve issues associated with expense reimbursement.

Miscellaneous Duties as Assigned

· Assist with vendor relations correspondence via phone and e-mail

· Open and distribute mail

· Filing and labeling

EDUCATION/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

Required

Preferred

Major/Course of Study

HS Diploma/GED

Accounting, Bookkeeping Finance or related field

Associate’s Degree (2yr)

Accounting or related field

Experience Required or Preferred:

· Minimum 1 year Accounts Payable or general accounting experience.

· Previous data entry and 10-key experience. Required.

Skills Required or Preferred:

· Efficient in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel with working knowledge of pivot table and v-lookups.

· Strong attention to detail and data entry skills.

· Professional telephone demeanor and outstanding customer service skills.

· Strong verbal communication.

· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
