Accounts Receivable Accountant

The position requires accuracy, speed, attention to detail, as well as the ability and willingness to follow directions and work as a team. Must be able to relate well to customers, and all levels of coworkers. A working knowledge of NetSuite is preferable.

Summary

The Accounts Receivable Accountant oversees daily transaction reconciliation between internal accounting software and bank accounts to ensure financial reporting. This position plays a critical role in maintaining cash flow accuracy, supporting month-end processes, and upholding internal financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Make sure software matches bank accounts
• Download and reconcile all the daily credit card transactions from the prior day(s) into multiple bank accounts.
• Apply and deposit checks, money orders and ACH transactions received
• Download daily payments from Shopify, eBay and AMEX and deposit
• Maintain daily log of Retail cash and Retail cc transactions
• Research in Cybersource or Elavon credit card transactions to determine status
• Create check for customer refunds provided by Returns or CSRs
• Address on a daily basis the declined credit cards
• Dispute chargebacks daily using multiple platforms and keep log current
• Work with staff accountant and controller on special month-end projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Candidate must have ability to speak clearly, distinctly, and effectively; ability to coordinate and initiate actions necessary to implement decisions; ability to establish and maintain priorities to complete assignments by deadlines; skilled in verifying the accuracy and completeness of forms and reports. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the ability to learn and use other software that we might have or acquire.
