Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented AR/AP Specialist to join our growing construction company based in Santa Paula. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and follow-through matter.

The AR/AP Specialist will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting support functions including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, account reconciliations, and administrative financial tasks related to construction operations.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Santa Paula (not remote).

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and vendor payments
• Generate customer invoices and manage accounts receivable collections
• Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts
• Track purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and project-related expenses
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Assist with month-end reporting and accounting support
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal project managers regarding billing and payment issues
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and deadlines
• Support payroll and administrative accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of AR/AP or bookkeeping experience
• Construction industry experience preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial organization
• Experience with Acumatica, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software preferred
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Adobe, Microsoft Excel and general computer systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits

• $26-$30/hour based on experience
