Accounts Receivable Specialist

Position Overview

The Accounts Receivable Specialist at Azul Roofing & Construction LLC is responsible for managing incoming payments, tracking outstanding invoices, and ensuring timely collection of receivables. This role plays a key part in maintaining cash flow by working closely with customers, insurance carriers, and internal teams to resolve billing issues and secure payments for roofing and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and issue accurate invoices for completed roofing and construction projects
• Track accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances
• Communicate with customers, insurance companies, and adjusters regarding billing and payment status
• Post payments, including checks, ACH, and credit card transactions, to customer accounts
• Reconcile discrepancies between invoices, contracts, and payments received
• Work with project managers and sales teams to verify job completion and billing accuracy
• Assist with insurance claim-related billing and documentation (if applicable)
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accounting systems
• Prepare AR reports, aging summaries, and collection updates for management
• Escalate delinquent accounts and recommend collection actions when necessary
• Support month-end close processes related to receivables
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience
• Experience in construction, roofing, or insurance billing preferred
• Strong understanding of invoicing, collections, and reconciliation processes
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication and customer service skills

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with insurance claims processes in roofing or construction projects
• Ability to handle high-volume billing and collections
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills for collections
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and tracking
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
