Ideal candidate will have:

·Qualified Charted Accountant (CA) or Similar or 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or similar major.

·At least 3 to 5 years of Revenue & Accounts Receivable experience with the day-to-day financial operations in an up-scale (4/5 Star) hospitality environment.

Scope and General Purpose of Job:

·Under the supervision of Hotel Director of Finance/Financial Controller and within the limits of the hotel’s policies and procedures and local requirements, is responsible through the Hotel Director of Finance/Financial Controller for all hotel accounting, financial reporting and controls and for the maintenance of a smooth and effective day-to-day work routine.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists Director of Finance/ Financial Controller to provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals within the hotel

·Supervises at the end of the month, the closing of the books and the subsequent timely preparation of the required financial data and all other management reports.

  • Ensures all financial regulations are met, through the maintenance of adequate systems of internal control
  • Ensures that balance sheets are a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the hotel
  • Works with external / internal auditors and assist with year-end audit preparations and drafting of financial statements
  • Ensures that all internal control procedures are strictly adhered to and communicates any perceived weakness to the Director of Finance/ Financial Controller
  • Prepares capital reviews as required by the Management
  • Assists the Director of Finance/ Financial Controller in internal daily audits of cash deposits, transfers and the reparation/ monitoring of the capital budget
  • Assist to prepare budget and maintain controls on spending to ensure budgetary limits are met

·Supervises directly or indirectly all members of the Finance department.

·Cooperates, coordinates and communicates with other departments in matters concerning receiving, accounting and controlling cost of hotel supplies and in all aspects of revenue control.

·Handles any problems which involve other Department Heads, or employees of other departments.

·Oversees the Hotel Management Information Systems.

  • Ensures that local tax matters, including both income and other taxes, are properly handled. This includes the responsibility for the proper deductions and remittances of all payroll taxes where applicable.

·Ensured monthly tax filing, tax payment, tax reporting, year-end closing, comments and financial reporting are on a timely basis and maintain the performance of the accounting and related computer systems at an acceptable level with assurance of MIS and other supports.

·Identifies training needs, develops formal training plans and conducts training sessions for accounting and operational staff in coordination with other departments.

·Identifies staff with potential for promotion and/or transfer within accounting operations.

·Conducts such functions as interviewing, hiring, orientation, performance appraisal, coaching, counselling and suspending if necessary, to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity.To consult with Director of Finance/Financial Controller, Director of Human Resources/Human Resources Manager and General Manager as appropriate.

·Participates in local recognized professional and industry organization.

·Conducts periodically inspections and test, coordinate with Public Accountant/Auditors or designated individual to ensure all departments are complying with required procedures.

·Keeps the Director of Finance /Financial Controller abreast on the latest operational/situational/ tax and business issues.

·Be thoroughly familiar with the duties and procedures of the other employees in the department, over whom he/she has supervision.

·To be in charge of the Finance department during the absence of the Director of Finance/Financial Controller.

·To perform related duties and special projects as assigned by Management.
