Accounts specialist

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping

Maintain accurate general ledger records.

Record daily financial transactions (receipts, payments, journal entries).

Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

2. Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Generate management reports, variance analysis, and budget comparisons.

Assist in preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies.

3. Banking & Treasury Management

Manage company bank accounts and perform bank reconciliations.

Process online and physical banking transactions, including vendor payments and salary transfers.

Monitor cash flow and maintain adequate liquidity.

Coordinate with banks regarding account matters, documentation, and facilities.

Assist in preparation of cash flow forecasts.

4. Payroll Administration

Process monthly payroll accurately and timely.

Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and adjustments.

Ensure statutory deductions are calculated and remitted.

Maintain payroll records and employee financial data confidentiality.

Coordinate with HR regarding employee compensation changes.

5. Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with tax laws, corporate regulations, and internal policies.

Assist in preparation and filing of tax returns (income tax, sales tax, withholding tax).

Support internal and external audits.

Maintain internal financial controls to prevent fraud or errors.

6. Budgeting & Financial Planning Support

Assist in preparation of annual budgets.

Monitor departmental expenditures against approved budgets.

Provide financial insights and cost-control recommendations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com / BBA / ACCA / CA Inter preferred).

3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).

Advanced MS Excel skills.
