Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG), formerly Tidewater Primary Care Physicians, P.C., was formed in 1992 with four primary care medical groups in Newport News, Hampton, and Yorktown, Virginia. We are seeking a full-time Advanced Care Practitioner to join our team.

TPMG General Surgery and Hernia Center and Center for Colorectal Surgery are seeking a motivated Advanced Care Practitioner to join our busy practice and support two physicians. This role involves providing comprehensive care to surgical patients in a out-patient clinic, including performing patient evaluations, assisting with pre-operative and post-operative management, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans in collaboration with the surgeons, providing patient education, and performing minor procedures within scope of practice such as wound care, suture removal, and drain management. The ACP may also assist in the operating room and participate in hospital rounding as needed. Candidates must have strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills. Prior surgical experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements:

• Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant or nurse Practitioner program.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• Current DEA license
• Current national board certification
