Admin. Assist. - Assoc Warden (#011908) Tyger River Correctional Inst., Enoree (SPARTANBURG) Level 2

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as the administrative assistant to assigned units, Associate Wardens and Warden's administrative assistant.
  • Prepares letters, memos, reports and notices for distribution.
  • Research and respond to various office duties including routine and non-routine correspondence and phone requests/inquiries from state and local agency officials, inmates, inmate families and general public.
  • Assist with IRC projects, plans, coordinates and supervises special projects, programs and activities as directed.
  • Take and transcribe minutes for all meetings.
  • Order office supplies for institution.
  • Assist other departments with clerical and back-up needs, i.e., training, investigation, security, canteen, mail room and switchboard during shortages.
  • Assist as required in emergency situation.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.


SCDC Minimum Requirements:

  • A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
  • A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
  • Must successfully complete four (4) week SCDC training upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

One year or more of administrative experience in a correctional setting is preferred.
