Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Small Rural Community Chamber of Commerce
(Approx. 10–15 hours per month; hours may vary based on events and seasonal needs)
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Administrative Assistant to join our local area Chamber of Commerce! In this role, you will serve as the backbone of our administrative functions and provide exceptional support to the Board and Members alike. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster an efficient, welcoming, and professional environment. Responsibilities
General Administrative Support
- Provide basic administrative assistance to support Chamber operations
- Serve as a friendly point of contact for members, local businesses, and community inquiries (email/phone as needed)
- Assist with light filing, data entry, and record-keeping
- Help keep contact lists and simple tracking documents up to date
Member Support
- Assist with membership renewals, new member applications, and updates
- Prepare and distribute welcome or renewal materials for members
- Answer routine member questions and direct more complex requests to the appropriate board members or officers
Event & Activity Support
- Provide limited support for Chamber-sponsored events or meetings (often 1–2 per year)
- Assist with meeting reminders, RSVPs, and basic event coordination
- Help prepare materials such as agendas, sign-in sheets, or name tags
- Assist with event setup or check-in during monthly member meetings
Communications Support
- Assist with simple Chamber communications such as emails, newsletters, or community announcements
- Update basic information on the Chamber website or social media pages (as directed)
- Proofread content for accuracy and clarity
Office & Operational Tasks
- Help maintain basic organization of Chamber documents and supplies
- Assist with simple bookkeeping or tracking tasks, such as invoices or deposits
- Support smooth day-to-day operations of the Chamber within limited monthly hours
Flexibility & Community Support
- Provide assistance for seasonal projects, community initiatives, or board requests
- Work collaboratively with volunteers and board members
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Chamber’s mission
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Be reliable and able to work independently with light direction
- Comfortable using email, basic word processing, and simple spreadsheets or databases
- Organized and able to keep track of small tasks and details
- Friendly and professional when interacting with local businesses, members, and community partners
- Willing to pitch in where needed and adjust tasks as priorities shift
- Familiarity with the local community is a plus, but not required
- Reliable transportation for light travel, as needed
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Foley, MN 56329
