Department History Overview: Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for the children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult
services.Vision: To better the lives of children and adults in Harris County.Brief Description Overview: Under the supervision of the Permanency Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating and scheduling Permanency Conference (PC) meetings, preparing and documenting meeting notes, and ensuring timely notification to all required participants. Additionally, the role includes attending Family Group Conference (FGC) meetings and accurately documenting proceedings in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and legal requirements.Duties & Responsibilities: Request and review DFPS Notification Sheets to identify all required participants for each Permanency Conference meeting. Notify all identified parties of the meeting type, date, and time via email and/or mail.Attend Permanency Conference (PC) and Family Group Conference (FGC) meetings; accurately document meeting discussions and outcomes on DFPS Permanency Conference and Family Group Conference forms and distribute completed forms to the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).Track and review cases scheduled for Permanency Conference meetings to ensure all meetings are conducted in accordance with DFPS compliance standards and contractual timelines.Coordinate and develop daily schedules for Permanency Conference meetings in collaboration with DFPS-designated program staff.Maintain and compile statistical data to document program activities in both Harris County and state databases, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with program requirements.Complete the Permanency Conference Checklist to document reasons when a meeting does not occur, including cases where a child has been placed in an intended permanent placement, and DFPS determines a meeting is not required.Offer in-person meeting options to families and prepare meeting spaces for in-person Permanency Conference meetings when requested. Travel to remote locations to support in-person Permanency Conferences and Family Group Conferences.Schedule meetings through Microsoft Teams and provide notifications and meeting access information to participants via mail or email.Compile monthly statistical reports and collect service authorizations for all Permanency Conference meetings to ensure accurate program documentation and billing compliance.Harris County is an Equal Opportunity Employer
