Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the High School Principal, the Principal Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative and organizational support to ensure the efficient operation of the school. This position serves as a key point of coordination for school communications, scheduling, records management, and day-to-day administrative functions while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Essential Functions

Provides direct administrative support to the Principal, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating daily activities.

Serves as the primary point of contact for the Principal's office, ensuring a professional, responsive, and secure environment for staff, students, parents, and visitors.

Prepares, edits, and manages correspondence, reports, memos, and other official documents.

Maintains accurate and organized records, including student, personnel, and school operational documents, in compliance with applicable laws and district procedures.

Coordinates meetings, including preparation of agendas, materials, and follow-up documentation.

Assists with school-level reporting requirements, data entry, and documentation for district and state submissions.

Manages incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, routing information appropriately and ensuring timely responses.

Supports school operations by coordinating logistics for events, testing, and other administrative functions.

Assists with substitute coordination, purchase orders, and other operational tasks as assigned.

Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with FERPA and district policies.

Supports crisis response and administrative needs as directed by the Principal.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.

Working knowledge of school operations, policies, and procedures preferred.
Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree or higher preferred.

Previous experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a school or public sector environment.

Experience with school information systems and office management systems preferred.
