Administrative Assistant (Marketing)

Job Summary:

Tahoe City Marina is seeking an organized, personable, and tech-savvy Administrative Assistant with a marketing background to support the daily operations of our marina office. In this dual role, you will serve as the first point of contact for boaters, vendors, and visitors, while also playing a key role in executing marketing initiatives to promote our marina services, events, and amenities.

We’re looking for someone with a great personality, a positive, can-do attitude, and the ability to stay calm, friendly, and effective under pressure—especially during peak boating season and busy weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:

· Greet and assist boaters, slip holders, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner

· Answer phones, respond to emails, and handle customer inquiries

· Process slip rentals, dockage agreements, payments, and service requests

· Maintain accurate records of boat slips, storage units, and customer contracts

· Collect payments from slip and storage customers

· Maintain storage contracts and ensure all related documentation is current

· Collect and organize current insurance documentation from slip and storage tenants

· Assist with daily boat rental operations and customer service

· Coordinate maintenance schedules and vendor services with marina staff

· Order supplies and manage inventory of marina office materials

· Prepare daily reports, invoices, and assist with light bookkeeping tasks

· Work collaboratively with the marina team to brainstorm and implement new, creative ways to improve operational efficiency

Marketing & Communications Support:

  • Manage social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) with engaging, on-brand content
  • Promote seasonal events, marina specials, and services (fuel, dockage, repairs, etc.)
  • Update website content, blogs, and image galleries
  • Design flyers, newsletters, and email campaigns for client outreach and engagement
  • Track basic analytics and report on marketing performance metrics

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a customer-facing or hospitality role
  • Marketing experience or strong interest in social media, branding, and content creation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
  • Friendly, proactive, and composed when handling high-pressure or stressful situations

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge or interest in boating, marina operations, or marine services
  • Basic photography and graphic design skills
  • Familiarity with SEO, Google My Business, and web content updates
  • Experience with social media

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.93 - $28.82 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
