Administrative Assistant (Student Success)

Job Responsibilities

Student Success Administrative Assistant performs a variety of complex administrative and office management duties for the division.

Provides comprehensive administrative support to supervisor by using advanced word processing skills in drafting, editing, and composing replies to correspondence. Distributes memos and reports, monitors telephone calls, and schedules appointments for supervisor. Establishes and maintains electronic and paper filing systems. Provides assistance with walk-ins and general inquiries for the division. Conducts training, as requested, for other student services administrative personnel on processes in areas such as procurement, mail-outs, travel documentation, and other campus administrative processes.

Facilitates budget coordination and management for the division.

Coordinates and implements special activities for the division. Maintains the development and maintenance of a comprehensive student-focused report by collecting and organizing data received from each department within the team, based on data collected by institutional research; responsible for coordinating the annual revisions of the Student Handbook.

Provides coordination with the SCC Counseling Center, including directing students to community providers and partnering with counseling services on student wellness programming. Facilitate basic office management, student communication, and marketing of services for the SCC Counseling Center.

Schedules and coordinates all preparation details for all divisional workshops, student meetings, traffic appeals, and disciplinary hearings; prepares agendas; takes and distributes minutes for all staff and divisional meetings.


Minimum and Additional Requirements

High School diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 1 year related work experience in higher education. Basic knowledge of computer operations.


Additional Comments

Occasional night and/or weekend hours may be required for scheduled events.
