The Position:

We are looking for an Assistant to the Psychiatrist to join our team. The Assistant to Psychiatrist will provide case management for patients with one or more chronic behavioral health concerns. The Assistant to Psychiatrist uses advanced processes in patient assessment, data analysis, and assists in implementation of methods to improve the overall quality and efficiency of patient care for the clinic. Will assist with direct and indirect patient care as needed.

Our office hours are:

• Monday-Thursday: 7 AM - 8 PM
• Friday: 8 AM - 1 PM
• Saturday: 7 AM - 5 PM

We have multiple shifts available during these hours. Candidates with weekend availability will be given preference.

Requirements:

• Encouraged: College or University; Current Enrollment; Early College/AP
• Experience with or ability to learn Electronic Health Records
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate, good typing skills
• Excellent customer service skills both in-person and on the telephone
• Priority setting skills
• Ability to work as a team member and independently
• Experience or ability to learn using a multi-line phone and greeting patients
• Self-motivated, analytical, quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker

The ideal candidate would be someone who is interested in the medical or mental health field and has pursued that interest in their educational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Interview patients and report findings to Practice provider.
• Communicates with Practice provider regarding any significant changes in patient's condition.
• Ensures that all patient data is complete and is entered into Electronic Health Record (EHR) for follow-up and reporting. Responsible for performing and documenting in EHR.
• Accountable for reviewing patient data and summary of care document in EHR.
• Proactively identifies high-risk patients and intervenes with the guidance of the Practice provider to improve patients' outcomes.
• Will consult with patient's provider immediately if patients condition merits immediate intervention.
• Works with the Practice clinic staff to develop, implement, and carry out monitoring in Behavioral Health management for patients with such problems as depression, anxiety, chronic pain, substance abuse, and other chronic mental health conditions.
• Responding to phone calls and appropriately reviewing with the Practice provider.
• Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.
