The Department of Environmental Quality/Office of Management and Finance has a vacancy.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality’s (LDEQ) mission is to provide service to the people of Louisiana through comprehensive environmental protection in order to promote and protect health, safety and welfare.

LDEQ is seeking a highly organized, detail-focused Administrative Coordinator to manage the agency’s statewide Fleet Management Program and support key operational functions that keep the department running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys coordinating complex logistics, and takes pride in ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency across a large and diverse fleet. The incumbent of the position will play a central role in supporting employees across the state while maintaining critical administrative and operational systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate the agency’s Fleet Management Program, including vehicle licensing, maintenance schedules, fuel/maintenance cards, and driver authorization requirements.
  • Oversee accident reporting, insurance claims, and vehicle glass replacement documentation for the department’s fleet.
  • Maintain fleet records, usage logs, and required reporting for DOA, LPAA, and internal management.
  • Assist with annual property reviews and building maintenance coordination with the Office of State Buildings.
  • Serve as backup for mail operations, ensuring timely receipt, sorting, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment, job appointment (a temporary appointment not to exceed four years), or promotion of permanent classified employee. If the position is filled as a job appointment, it could be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available.
