Job Description

Job Title: Administrative and HR Assistant
Department: Corporate Administration
Reports To: Administrator/CEO
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: The Administrative and HR Assistant for the Public Building Authority is responsible for the deliverance of quality customer service and first impression of the Administrator/CEO office. This position will perform general clerical, administrative and customer service duties as assigned by the CEO. This position will also assist with HR related functions. The following is a summary of typical duties that may be performed by this position in assigned area. (These duties are not to be viewed as all-inclusive, but a summary of duties).

JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs general administrative activities by performing the following duties.

  • Provides customer service via telephone and email, provides information and answers general questions, makes referrals to other individuals, departments, agencies, or forwards call to appropriate persons.
  • May type memorandums, letters and other documents as assigned.
  • Assist with and help maintain paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Sorts, reviews and ensures the delivery of mail for the administrative office.
  • Make copies and assemble packets as needed.
  • Assist with room reservations for PBA managed rooms as needed.
  • Will assist with HR with administrative duties (ie. Scheduling interviews, creating packets, scheduling pre-employment screenings, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • General understanding of executive office operations in an administrative role.
  • 3 years of related work experience.
  • 3 years experience with onboarding, HR compliance, and other HR-related functions.
  • Experience in Microsoft office to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Communicate in writing and orally with proficiency.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered for employment into the position.
  • Associate degree preferred.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
