What is an Administrative Legal Assistant?
Gilliam & Mikula’s Administrative Legal Assistant plays an integral role by providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to attorneys and paralegals in a law firm focused on legal debt collection. This role combines the responsibilities of a traditional administrative assistant with specialized legal office tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES HIGHLIGHTS
- Prepare and process legal documents, including summons, complaints, affidavits, and motions.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, and phone calls.
- Organize, file, and maintain physical and electronic case files in compliance with firm protocols.
- Monitor case deadlines and maintain calendar systems for court dates and filings.
- Communicate with clients, courts, vendors, and opposing counsel in a professional manner.
- Support attorneys and paralegals in daily case management and administrative tasks.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in the case management system.
- Provide general office support, including ordering supplies and coordinating office maintenance.

- Appropriate level of administrative and customer service experience and skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to organize, plan and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with good attention to detail.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or educational equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in an administrative assistant or office support role.
- Access to reliable transportation; within commuting distance to our office.
- Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of the primary Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.
- Notary Public, preferred
