To develop and deliver technical and HSE training programs for Tubular Running Services personnel, ensuring safe, efficient, and standardized execution of casing, tubing, and handling operations in compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and international oilfield standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Tubular Running Services or drilling operations.
- Certified trainer or assessor qualification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Casing & tubing running operations
- Torque & turn monitoring systems
- Oilfield HSE regulations
1. Training Delivery
- Conduct theoretical and practical training on TRS equipment such as CRTs, power tongs, elevators, slips, CTT, and handling tools.
- Train crews on casing and tubing running procedures, torque monitoring, thread care, and make-up/break-out operations.
- Deliver HSE induction, hazard awareness, and safe working practices specific to TRS activities.
- Assess trainee competency through written tests, simulations, and on-job evaluations.
2. HSE Leadership
- Promote a strong safety culture in line with company HSE policies and client expectations.
- Train personnel on JSA, risk assessment, lockout/tagout, dropped object prevention, and emergency response.
- Ensure trainees understand well control awareness and interface with rig operations.
- Report and investigate incidents related to TRS activities and recommend preventive actions.
3. Competency & Assessment
- Develop competency matrices for TRS positions (technician, operator, supervisor).
- Evaluate field personnel performance and identify skill gaps.
- Maintain training records, certifications, and qualification databases.
- Support career development plans for TRS crews.
4. Procedure & Standards
- Train crews on company SOPs, API standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Participate in updating training materials, presentations, and operating procedures.
- Ensure correct use, maintenance, and inspection of TRS equipment.
5. Field Support
- Provide on-site coaching during critical casing/tubing jobs.
- Verify correct rig-up, equipment function tests, and safe work practices.
- Liaise with client representatives regarding training and HSE matters.
