Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

As an Admissions Specialist, you will be responsible for the smooth and accurate admission of clients and support census management and reporting across program sites. You’ll work closely with the billing department, clinical staff, and referral sources to ensure quality service and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to new referrals and document appropriately

  • Maintain waiting lists per CARF and DMH standards

  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, referral sources, and coworkers

  • Ensure program census is maintained in accordance with service models for detox, residential, and/or outpatient services

  • Resolve file/charting deficiencies within appropriate timeframes

  • Facilitate screenings by phone or in person

  • Provide administrative support to clinical teams for documentation needs

  • Complete admissions in applicable systems, including demographic, financial, and release of information data

  • Coordinate with Care Managers to obtain and verify insurance details

  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry

  • Collaborate with the billing department to meet documentation and batching deadlines

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming environment for new clients

  • Assist with filing, chart reviews, and chart information compilation

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership


Education and/or Experience Qualifications
:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required


Additional Qualifications
:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Skilled in creating rapport and providing a positive first impression

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of confidentiality laws and regulations regarding mental health and substance use disorders

  • Familiarity with applicable program policies, procedures, and regulations
