Ogle County Court Services is seeking a full-time
Adult Probation Officer
to supervise justice-involved individuals while supporting rehabilitation, accountability, and public safety. This non-supervisory position blends traditional probation responsibilities with opportunities to support behavioral change, connect clients to services, and engage in evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise probationers and ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions

Conduct office, home, and employment visits

Develop individualized supervision plans using risk/needs assessments

Apply trauma-informed, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral strategies

Connect clients to community resources for mental health, substance use, housing, and employment

Prepare reports and provide updates or testimony to the Court
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree (criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, or related field preferred)

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to manage a caseload independently

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Must meet AOIC hiring eligibility and pre-employment standards
Preferred / Bonus

Experience in counseling, behavioral health, or treatment programs

Illinois LCSW or LCPC licensure is a valued bonus (clinical services not required)
