Title: Adult Programming and Outreach Specialist Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Adult Programming & Outreach Administrator Hours of Work: Days; some evenings/weekends
The Adult Programming and Outreach Specialist increases The Library’s engagement in the community and supports the needs of adult learners by assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of adult programs at all library locations and outreach sites.
Primarily works indoors and in contact with adults of all ages. Frequently uses a computer. Travels to other libraries or community locations. Provides own transportation and is reimbursed at the federal mileage rate.

Education/Training: Training: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Development (GED) equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of two years of customer service experience and two years’ experience working with adults in a group or one-on-one setting. Two years of active experience using MS Office Suite or equivalent and searching the Internet in a Windows environment. Comfort with or open to learning Zoom and A/V technical skills is preferred.
Required: Current and valid driver’s license is required to operate a Dauphin County Library System vehicle, insurance underwriter requires minimum of three years driving experience, ability to move materials within and between locations, sufficient mobility to perform programs for adults, ability to lift 20 lbs. unassisted, bending, and reaching.
