Leader of complex new part introduction. Drives and owns new process introduction that will lead to manufacturing improvements; from new machines to innovative fixturing and tooling. Leads cross functional teams to design gages, fixturing, tooling and process flow to meet design/Engine manual specifications. Reviews and approves drawings/repairs for manufacturability. Mentor of technical team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Leads multiple NPI projects resulting in manufacturing improvements in quality, cost, and production, while ensuring cycle times are met.
  • New process/part introduction –large scale in quantity or complexity
  • Technical process ownership for critical rotating parts/components for aircraft engines. Specific focus on machining (milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc). of high temperature alloys
  • Work cross functionally with quality and design engineers to ensure that processes achieve established metrics
  • Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability
  • Assist Production Supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Process and Equipment/Manufacturing

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Prior experience with machining (milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc.) of high temperature alloys.
  • Self-motivated to get the solution with reasonable amount of time and financial support
  • Communicate effectively with operators, peers, and management, in both written and oral manners
  • Six Sigma or equivalent Quality training
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions using structured methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), five-why, Kepner Tregoe (KT), etc.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Strong influencing skills
