After School Dance Teacher

CMNTY Academy is seeking a Dance Instructor in Downtown Dallas to lead after school dance classes for children, ages 3-14.

This position supports the work of CMNTY Academy, an after school program committed to movement and social emotional development for kids.

THE ROLE:

• Facilitate 50-minute dance sessions
• Teach a minimum of two (2) classes per shift
• Lead instruction for up to 20 children per class
• Deliver safe and age-appropriate classes
• Educate the students to advance their understanding and personal growth
• Be at the studio 30 minutes before and 15 minutes after each class
• Lead with confidence and clarity to reduce chaos or confusion in the class

In this role, you will report to the Program Manager of the academy site. The academy is open Monday through Friday. Your shift would be 4pm to 6pm with the option of working 1 to 3 days a week.

It will be your duty to observe and adjust your approach to support the students capabilities and physical conditions. Your energy, dedication, and expertise will help create an inspiring environment where students feel valued, supported, and motivated to achieve their goals.

Requirements

• Actively lead programming with children that require standing, stretching, and continuous movement.
• Group Fitness Certification or Teaching Certification
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively communicate complex information clearly
• Ability to manage a group of kids while maintaining a positive attitude
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings as scheduled
