After School Lead Teacher

Kids Soar is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to empowering children and families through education and service. Our literacy-focused after-school program serves children in grades K–5 by providing tutoring, enrichment activities, meals, and a safe, nurturing environment for learning and personal growth.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Part-Time After-School Teacher to join our amazing team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children, values literacy and education, and is committed to making a lasting impact in the community. This job's main hours are 2-6:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and engage with students in a structured classroom setting
• Provide academic support and tutoring in reading and other core subjects
• Implement and support a literacy-based curriculum and enrichment activities
• Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
• Supervise recess, snack time, and transitions between activities
• Support behavior expectations and classroom routines
• Help with set-up, clean-up, and overall classroom organization

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or community setting
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education, child development, or a related field preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Passion for literacy and youth development
• Commitment to Kids Soar’s mission, values, and inclusive, faith-rooted culture

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and positive behavior strategies

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
