After-school nanny for active 1st grader in Kailua

A welcoming family is looking for a dependable after-school nanny to support their energetic 6-year-old son as he begins first grade and his first season of club soccer. They're hoping to find a consistent caregiver who can become a trusted part of their family's weekly routine.

Position Details

• Location: Kailua, Oʻahu
• Child: 6-year old, son
• Start Date: August 1, 2026
• Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday
• 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM
• 7 guaranteed hours per week

Type: Long-term, recurring after-school position

Optional Additional Hours: The family may occasionally be interested in scheduling an additional date night or weekend babysitting shift approximately once per month. These hours would be scheduled separately and are not part of the guaranteed weekly schedule.

Responsibilities

After-School Care

• Pick him up from school promptly at dismissal
• Provide a smooth transition from school to home
• Assist with using the bathroom, changing clothes, and having a snack
• Create a positive, relaxed after-school environment

Transportation

• Drive safely to soccer practice, ensure on-time arrival for practice
• Remain nearby throughout practice
• Transport safely home afterward

End-of-Day Support

• Supervise at home until parents arrive around 5:30 PM
• Communicate any important updates from the afternoon

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $25/hr

Required:

• 3+ years of professional childcare experience
• CPR and First Aid certified
• Strong references from recent child care roles
• Reliable personal vehicle
