Mom and Dad are thoughtful, collaborative, and highly engaged, but also want a nanny who can work independently within clear guidelines overnight.The family is looking for a nanny who is attentive, calm, and quick to communicate anything concerning.The family also has a dog in the home, so comfort around dogs is important.POSITION DETAILS<ul><li>Location: Kailua, Oʻahu</li><li>Children: 1 newborn, girl</li><li>Schedule: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights</li><li>Hours: 10:00 PM &ndash; 6:00 AM</li><li>Weekly Hours: 24 hours/week</li><li>Start Date: April 2nd</li><li>Duration: Initially expected to be about 1 month, with possible flexibility depending on family needs</li><li>Pet: 1 dog</li></ul>RESPONSIBILITIES: Overnight Newborn Care<ul><li>Provide safe, attentive overnight care for a newborn</li><li>Handle bottle feedings, burping, diaper changes, soothing, and settling baby back to sleep</li><li>Support cluster feeding patterns as needed</li><li>Keep baby upright for extended periods after feeds due to reflux/spit-up</li><li>Monitor sleep, feeding, and behavior patterns throughout the shift</li><li>Maintain a calm, quiet, overnight environment</li></ul>Baby-Related Household Support<ul><li>Wash and sterilize bottles and pump parts</li><li>Run sterilization cycles as needed</li><li>Complete baby laundry</li><li>Keep baby areas tidy and reset for the next day</li></ul>Communication &amp; Monitoing<ul><li>Track overnight care notes using the family&rsquo;s app/system</li><li>Leave clear updates for parents about feedings, diapering, sleep, and anything notable</li><li>Proactive communication</li></ul>IDEAL CANDIDATE<ul><li>Experienced with newborns and highly confident working overnight</li><li>Calm, attentive, and comfortable supporting a baby with reflux</li><li>Engaging and nurturing when baby is awake, not overly passive</li><li>Comfortable working independently while parents sleep</li><li>Science-oriented and respectful of a healthcare-informed household</li><li>Communicates clearly and promptly about concerns</li><li>Warm, dependable, and genuinely caring</li><li>Comfortable around dogs</li></ul>Household Preferences / Environment<ul><li>Home has Nanit/cameras throughout</li><li>No heavy perfume</li><li>No smoke smell on clothing</li><li>Minimal cat dander exposure preferred due to allergies</li></ul>Vaccination PreferencesFamily prefers a nanny who is up to date on:<ul><li>Seasonal flu vaccine</li><li>Tdap</li><li>Standard immunity/vaccination coverage such as MMR/MMRV</li><li>Hepatitis B</li></ul>COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS<ul><li>Hourly Rate: $30/hr</li><li>W-2 Employment with tax withholding</li><li>Paid Time Off</li></ul>REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>3+ years of professional childcare experience</li><li>Pediatric CPR &amp; First Aid certification</li><li>Strong professional references</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Spanish-speaking or Mandarin-speaking is a plus, but not required</li><li>Comfortable using baby tracking apps/logs</li><li>Strong overnight newborn care background</li></ul>HOW TO APPLYThis is a meaningful opportunity to support a thoughtful, appreciative first-time family during a tender and important stage.
