After School Teacher

The After School Teacher at Children’s Lighthouse plays an important role in providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for school-aged children after regular school hours. This position requires a responsible, energetic, and caring individual who enjoys working with children and supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth. The After School Teacher will supervise activities, assist with homework, and promote positive interactions while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and actively engage children in after-school activities, including games, arts & crafts, and group projects.
• Provide homework support and encourage good study habits.
• Maintain open and professional communication with parents to share updates on student progress and behavior.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following school policies and state licensing regulations.
• Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and fun.
• Support school events and enrichment programs as needed.
• Collaborate with fellow staff members to maintain a positive and structured environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 25 years preferred, with a valid driver’s license (responsible for driving the mini bus if required).
• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with children in a classroom, after-school program, or childcare setting.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with children.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
