In this role, you will inspire curiosity, foster growth, and support children’s social and emotional development through dynamic activities and personalized guidance. Your energetic approach will help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while ensuring a positive experience that encourages their love of learning and exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children in a variety of activities including homework help, arts and crafts, sports, theater, and outdoor play to promote active engagement and fun.
  • Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Develop and execute age-appropriate lesson plans that support childhood development and early childhood education principles.
  • Monitor children’s behavior using effective behavior management techniques; address conflicts with patience and understanding.
  • Provide first aid when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of every child in your care.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and school staff to communicate progress, concerns, or special needs related to individual students.
  • Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance as needed.
  • Incorporate Christian counseling principles when appropriate to nurture emotional resilience and moral development.
  • Lead extracurricular activities such as sports coaching, theater productions, or tutoring sessions to enrich the children’s after-school experience.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, babysitting, tutoring, or early childhood education is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with knowledge of childhood development theories.
  • Experience with behavior management techniques to guide positive social interactions among children.
  • Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred; ongoing training in special education or behavior management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with child safety protocols and childcare regulations across various settings including daycare or after-school programs.

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
