JOB SUMMARY:
The AI Control Optimization Consultant develops, promotes, and supports AI/ML-enabled closed-loop optimization solutions (Control AI – FKDPP) in collaboration with Sales and Solutions teams. This role focuses on presales activities, proposal development, PoC/pilot support, benefit estimation, and coordination with internal/external stakeholders. The consultant translates customer operational challenges into tangible AI optimization use cases and supports early-stage project scoping.
This role will be a key contributor in developing and promoting Yokogawa’s AI solution portfolio, including other AI products and solutions released or under development. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience from the field, a passion for leveraging AI technologies to impact our customers’ operations.
Once sold, Consultant can also have the ultimate responsibility for Yokogawa business at the project level. This includes the responsibility for customer satisfaction, improving margin, and for overall management of projects from initial conception through project completion. Assures projects are completed in a timely, efficient, and profitable manner while maintaining customer satisfaction by scope definition, planning, monitoring, and controlling all project resources and relationships utilizing Yokogawa ISO procedural requirements.
DUTIES/RESULTS:
- Develops and communicates Control AI FKDPP presales strategy with Sales Teams.
- Supports sales calls, customer presentations, demonstrations, and PoC design sessions.
- Creates customized proposal & SOW documentation leveraging presales materials.
- Defines customer business requirements and translates them into AI optimization use cases.
- Coordinates PoC and pilot deployment activities including data collection and preparation.
- Supports benefit estimation and ROI justification based on customer data and AI model outputs.
- Collects and documents customer feedback and improvement requirements for continuous product enhancement.
- Participates in internal knowledge capture and contributes to best practices and playbooks.
- Submits monthly activity reports (customer interactions, pipeline, feedback, forecast).
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of combined experience in industrial process engineering, control systems, data analytics, or machine learning.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML workflows (Python, Jupyter, model deployment, validation) in industrial context preferred.
- Understanding of closed-loop optimization, control loops (PID/DCS/SCADA), or APC is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple presales and PoC activities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to simplify technical concepts.
- Proficient with MS PowerPoint, Excel, and proposal documentation.
- Requires 30–50% travel (short trips).
