About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer with strong expertise in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Microsoft Copilot development to join our advanced AI engineering team. You will architect and build enterprise-grade AI systems, including custom Copilot solutions integrated with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dynamics, Teams, and external enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities1. RAG System Design & Development

• Build and optimize end-to-end RAG pipelines for enterprise use cases.
• Implement chunking, vector embeddings, document ingestion, search/retrieval systems, and prompt orchestration.
• Design hybrid RAG (semantic + keyword search).
• Optimize hallucination reduction, reranking, and context relevance.
• Support multi-modal RAG (PDFs, images, tables, structured data).

2. Microsoft Copilot Development

• Build custom Microsoft Copilot extensions, plugins, and skills for:
• Microsoft 365 Copilot
• Microsoft Copilot Studio
• Copilot for Teams
• SharePoint Copilot
• Dynamics 365 Copilot
• Integrate external data sources and company systems with Copilot.
• Design Copilot grounding strategies using RAG, vector embeddings, and business rules.
• Implement plugin actions using Power Platform, Azure Functions, Graph Connectors, and REST APIs.
• Ensure secure identity management, data governance, and compliance in Copilot environments.

3. LLM Integration & Fine-Tuning

• Integrate LLMs including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Llama, Mistral.
• Implement custom LLM flows with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, DSPy.
• Experiment with fine-tuning approaches such as LoRA / QLoRA.

4. Data Processing & Vector Database Management

• Build ETL pipelines to process unstructured documents (PDF, DOCX, scanned files).
• Implement text embedding pipelines using models like OpenAI, BGE, E5, Cohere.
• Manage vector databases:
• Pinecone
• Weaviate
• FAISS
• Milvus
• ElasticSearch / OpenSearch
• Optimize vector hygiene, metadata filtering, retrieval latency, and similarity scoring.

5. Backend & API Development

• Build backend services with Python / FastAPI / Flask / Node.js for AI pipelines.
• Build ingestion APIs, retrieval APIs, inference services, and Copilot data connectors.
• Optimize inference using caching, embeddings batching, and streaming.

6. Evaluation, Testing & Monitoring

• Build evaluation frameworks for:
• Retrieval accuracy
• Response quality
• Hallucination reduction
• Latency and throughput
• Create dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor for RAG & Copilot usage analytics.

7. Deployment, Security & Compliance

• Deploy AI workloads and Copilot extensions on Azure (preferred) or AWS.
• Ensure data governance, encryption, and access control for enterprise environments.
• Apply best practices for cost optimization of LLM and vector operations.

Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience building RAG systems from scratch.
• Proven experience developing Microsoft Copilot extensions / skills / plugins.
• Proficiency with:
• Python (FastAPI, Flask)
• LangChain / LlamaIndex / Semantic Kernel
• Azure Cognitive Search (bonus)
• Microsoft Graph API
• Experience with vector databases: Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS.
• Experience with LLM-based app development using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and open-source models.
• Strong experience with document parsing, embeddings, and retrieval.
• Knowledge of M365 architecture, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform is a plus.

Cloud & DevOps

• Strong experience on Azure AI, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Kubernetes Service.
• CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with distributed computing (Databricks, Ray is a plus).

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design production-grade AI solutions.
• Clear communicator with strong documentation habits.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience with Knowledge Graphs or graph-based retrieval.
• Experience with AI agent workflow orchestration (LangGraph, OpenAI Assistants API).
• Experience with multi-agent or tool-calling architectures.
• Background in NLP or AI research.
