Aircraft Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY

Performs all aspects of maintenance on company aircraft including, but not limited to, servicing, inspections, repairs and modifications in accordance with Federal aviation regulations. May handle special assignments such as supervision of volunteer program and support of company activities or events such as Pioneer Airport and AirVenture. Works under general supervision. Employee is required to exercise initiative and good judgment in the performance of duties.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform routine servicing, maintenance, heavy maintenance, and restoration on company aircraft in accordance with manufactures requirements and FAA regulations.
  • Ability to locate and interpret information for completion of work in accordance with all company, state, federal and FAA regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise maintenance performed by non-rated personnel in accordance with FAR’s.
  • Learn and utilize the project management programs and how to timely/accurately complete assigned projects.
  • Maintain and repair aircraft ground support equipment.
  • Assist with preparation of EAA AirVenture as assigned.
  • Embraces and supports the EAA mission and performs safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
  • Learn and understand the LHFE program and how it impacts our aircraft and operations.
  • Will lead Annual Aircraft Condition Inspections on non-certified aircraft and 100-hour inspections on all aircraft, as required.
  • Keeps up to date on technical knowledge (how machines, tools and equipment operate), industry practices, along with standards and trends.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires an FAA Mechanic Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Minimum of three years of Aircraft Mechanic work experience.
  • Must comply with and pass all FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing program requirements.
  • All current FAA regulations that pertain to certificated mechanics are required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and concepts of aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to work in situations involving ambiguity, shifting priorities, and rapid change.
  • Demonstrates resilience and composure in trying circumstances; deals constructively with mistakes and setbacks; copes effectively with stress and pressure.
  • Some travel to perform maintenance will be required, up to 15%.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The job may require the ability to push, pull, bend, twist, raise, lie, and squat when needed. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds with ease. Office setting some of the time.

Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 pounds, occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
