Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Contract Drafting & Negotiation (Procurement)
Any Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Law / Commerce preferred)
To support the Procurement function by independently drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing procurement contracts for renewable energy projects, ensuring risk mitigation, commercial protection, and alignment with company policies.
Draft, review, and finalize procurement-related contracts including EPC, supply, service, O&M, AMC, logistics, and civil/mechanical/electrical packages.
Develop and customize contract templates, GCC/SCC, scope of work, payment terms, LDs, warranties, and risk clauses.
Ensure contracts are aligned with internal procurement policies, commercial approvals, and legal guidelines.
Lead and support commercial and contractual negotiations with vendors, OEMs, EPC contractors, and service providers.
Negotiate key contractual terms such as price, payment milestones, LDs, performance guarantees, warranties, indemnities, termination, and dispute resolution.
Balance commercial objectives with risk mitigation during negotiations.
Work closely with Procurement, Legal, Projects, Engineering, Finance, and SCM teams to close contracts efficiently.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand scope, risks, and commercial intent before finalizing contracts.
Interface with external legal counsels when required.
Ensure contracts comply with statutory, regulatory, and company requirements.
Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation measures.
Support audits, contract compliance reviews, and post-award clarifications.
Maintain contract documentation, trackers, and version controls.
Support PO issuance, amendments, variations, and contract closures.
Ensure adherence to approval matrices and governance processes.
Strong expertise in contract drafting and negotiation within renewable energy procurement.
Deep understanding of procurement contracts for Solar / Wind / Hybrid / BESS projects.
Sound knowledge of commercial terms, Incoterms, LD structures, warranties, guarantees, and risk clauses.
Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
Experience in Renewable Energy industry only.
Strong hands-on experience in procurement contract drafting & negotiation.
Willingness to work from Mumbai Head Office.
Prior experience at AM / DM level or equivalent.
Exposure to IPP / EPC contracting models.
Experience working with OEMs, EPC contractors, and large vendors.
Familiarity with internal audits and governance frameworks.
