Job Description

Buddy's Ranch Outpatient is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AMFT, ACSW, or APCC Licensed Therapist to join our clinical team as an ASAM Assessment Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for completing comprehensive ASAM assessments for all new client admissions, determining the appropriate level of care, and ensuring timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, payer, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience working with individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, possesses strong clinical assessment skills, and is knowledgeable in ASAM Criteria and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive ASAM assessments for all new client admissions within required timeframes.
  • Determine and document the appropriate level of care using ASAM Criteria.
  • Conduct clinical interviews and gather relevant psychosocial, medical, and substance use history.
  • Complete accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR-KIPU)
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Medical Providers, Case Managers, and the Clinical Team to ensure appropriate client placement and continuity of care.
  • Identify immediate clinical, psychiatric, or safety concerns and communicate findings to the appropriate team members.
  • Ensure documentation meets all licensing, accreditation, insurance, and organizational standards.
  • Stay current with ASAM Criteria, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based assessment practices.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Active registration or licensure as an AMFT, ACSW, or APCC in the State of California.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and level of care determinations is preferred.
  • Strong clinical interviewing, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.

Pay Range: Competitive; based on experience, registration status, and licensure.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
