Job Description

Headstart Warranty Group is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Analyst to support financial, risk, and operational reporting across the organization.

This role is ideal for someone who is extremely comfortable working with large datasets in Excel, has experience in finance or insurance environments, and can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership.

Position Overview

The Analyst will work directly with Risk and Finance teams to support critical business functions, including monthly insurance premium submissions, financial reporting, and operational performance analysis.

This individual will play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, reporting integrity, and visibility into business performance, while supporting leadership with insights that drive decision-making.

Core Responsibilities

Financial & Insurance Reporting

  • Prepare and manage monthly insurance premium submissions to carrier partners
  • Reconcile premium, production, and claims-related data across multiple systems
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all reporting delivered to insurers and internal stakeholders
  • Support financial reporting processes tied to revenue, reserves, and program performance

Data Analysis & Executive Reporting

  • Build and maintain monthly reporting packages for C-suite and leadership
  • Analyze business activity including production, revenue trends, loss performance, and operational KPIs
  • Translate large datasets into clear, concise insights and recommendations
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and performance gaps across the business

Operational & Risk Support

  • Partner with Risk and Finance teams to monitor program performance and financial exposure
  • Assist in evaluating profitability, loss ratios, and operational efficiency
  • Support audits, compliance reporting, and internal financial reviews
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and leadership requests

Data Management & Process Improvement

  • Work with large datasets to clean, validate, and reconcile data across systems
  • Build and maintain scalable Excel models, reports, and dashboards
  • Identify opportunities to improve data integrity, reporting processes, and automation
  • Support implementation of more advanced reporting tools and infrastructure over time

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or business analysis
  • Strong background in finance, insurance, or related analytical environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
  • Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical and executive audiences
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, data-driven environment

Technical Skill Requirements (Excel)

  • Pivot Tables & large dataset management
  • VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
  • INDEX / MATCH
  • SUMIFS / COUNTIFS
  • Data cleaning, validation, and reconciliation
  • Building dashboards and structured reporting models

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with insurance reporting, premium reconciliation, or financial reporting
  • Experience working with multiple data sources or systems integration
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools
  • Experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, or automation (macros/VBA)
  • Exposure to audit, compliance, or regulatory reporting environments

Work Environment (Hybrid Requirement)

This is a required hybrid position based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and is not a fully remote role.

The Analyst is expected to work a minimum of 3 days per week in-office, partnering directly with Risk, Finance, and leadership teams. In-person collaboration is critical to ensure accuracy, speed, and alignment in reporting and data-driven decision-making.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
