Analyst – Data Quality & Records Management

About the Role

The City of Minneapolis is hiring a detail-oriented Analyst to support the Civil Rights Department. You’ll work on data quality, case file accuracy, and reporting improvements in multiple records management systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into data, fixing errors, and recommending smarter processes that improve efficiency and accuracy.

What You’ll Do

• Review and clean up records across multiple systems.
• Use Excel, Cognos Analytics, and Tableau to identify issues and improve reporting.
• Analyze case files to correct errors and document actions taken.
• Spot data trends and recommend solutions to prevent future issues.
• Provide clear, written, and verbal recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience analyzing, cleaning, or managing data in a records management system.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with Cognos Analytics and Tableau (experience preferred).
• Ability to quickly learn and apply complex processes to data management and reporting.
• Strong communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations.
• CJIS training and certification required by start date (mandatory).
