Job Description and Duties
Are you an analyst with strong analytical skills looking to take the next step in your career? Do you enjoy the great outdoors and want to work to protect the natural resources of the State of California? Then come join the Budget Office at the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
This position reports to the Budget Branch Chief, and will provide the more complex analytical and consultative work for the Service Based Budgeting (SBB) program. . This position works directly with management at headquarters, staff statewide, and contractors to develop, implement and provide training and updates on the SBB program. As the SBB process specialist, this position will support the Department in improving policies, techniques and technology using a budgeting process that allows the Department to manage its budget allocations in accordance with its mission. This position will assist in tackling the more complex SBB-related projects and will assist the Budget Branch to continue implementing transformative changes. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in the technical development, monitoring, and administration of the Department’s budget.
This position is headquartered in Downtown Sacramento but is eligible for telework based on the Department’s current Telework Policy. This position reports to the office at least two days a week.

Working Conditions
Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but also involves walking or standing for brief periods. Attend meetings and hearings, work with staff statewide to complete work assignments. Work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines. Occasional travel is required (up to 5%).

1. Describe your experience in compiling and analyzing large sets of data using spreadsheets, advanced formulas, etc., and how you interpret and present your findings. Specifically include any experience you have using Microsoft Power BI.
