To assist the Senior Category Manager and Merchandise Manager in all facets of product sourcing, selection, and managing the vendor relationship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn and assist with negotiating the following with the vendor community:
- Marketing Support.
- Payment and Freight Terms.
- Pricing.
- Assortment.
- Promotions.
- Other matters pertinent to the Orgill vendor relationship.
- Learn and assist with vendor line and assortment reviews per assigned department(s) using the Strategic Category Analysis (SCA) tools.
- Assist with selling buying event commitments and prepare order forms for Buying Events.
- Attends Dealer Markets / Buying events and assists with coordinated activity for assigned merchandise.
- Responds to questions and requests for information from dealers, sales representatives, and vendors.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Success Factors: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of and ability in using various software applications, particularly Microsoft Office products and the Google Platform.
- Polished negotiation techniques.
- Excellent analytical abilities with ability to review facts and weight options when solving problems and making decisions.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with good listening skills.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, proceed with objectives with little or no supervision, and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to deal with a variety of challenging situations under stress.
- Ability to organize materials, manage time, and prioritize tasks.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree required in a business-related area.
- Three to five years’ experience preferred in a same or similar field.
- Must be willing to travel to Company Dealer Markets as well as infrequent training opportunities where they present themselves – requirements may vary.
- Regular, on-site, in person attendance required.
